How to Become a Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us! Volunteers play an important role in supporting students, schools, and educational opportunities throughout the district. The following steps explain how to become an approved 成人视频 volunteer.

Please contact your school office to express your interest in volunteering and learn about available opportunities.
Step 2: Volunteer Application Forms
Depending on your role, you may be asked to complete one of following application forms:

Forms are also available from your school office.
Approved volunteer forms remain valid until the beginning of the next school year. A new application form must be submitted each school year.

A. A Criminal Record Check is required for all volunteers who work with students under the age of 19, except district students volunteering at their own school.
Current 成人视频 employees do not need to complete a new CRC to volunteer, as a CRC is already required as a condition of employment.
Q. How long will it take to receive the Criminal Record Check link from PSSG?
A. It can take up to 2-3 business days to receive the link from PSSG after submitting the initial request form.

If you have questions, contact your school office or email: volunteerchecks@surreyschools.ca.
Q. How long is the link in the PSSG email active?
A. The link is active for 14 days. Please complete the online Criminal Record Check as soon as possible after receiving the email.

Q. How long does it take to receive a CRC result?
A. Volunteer CRC results can take one to several weeks for the Criminal Record Review Program (CRRP)to process, however, in many cases, results are available within one week. It could take longer if:
- The applicant needs to submit fingerprints to confirm their identity
- The criminal record check shows an offense
- The applicant's file needs further review because a relevant and/or specific offence was found
Important: Due to the possibility of delayed CRC results, volunteers are strongly encouraged to complete their volunteer application form and apply for their CRC (and Drivers abstract, if volunteer driving) at the beginning of the school year if they anticipate volunteering at any time during the year.
When the School District receives your CRC clearance both you and your volunteer school site office will be notified by email.
Q. I received a CRC clearance email. Can I start volunteering?
A. A CRC clearance forms part of your volunteer application. Applicants will be contacted by their school administration to confirm final application approval.
Q. How long is a CRC valid?
A. CRCs are valid for five years unless the volunteer is charged with or convicted of an offence, in which case the volunteer must report the charge or conviction to the school or district so that a new CRC may be initiated, in accordance with section 24.9 of the Criminal Records Review Act,
which states:
“New convictions or outstanding charges
24.9 (1)If a volunteer who works with children or works with vulnerable adults is charged with or convicted of a relevant offence or specified offence subsequent to a criminal record check or criminal record check verification, the volunteer must promptly report the charge or conviction to the registered specified organization and provide to the registered specified organization a criminal record check authorization for a further criminal record check.”
Q. Will I need to provide my fingerprints to complete my CRC?
A. The CRRP (Criminal Record Review Program) conducts a check on every volunteer processed through the program; however, only those who share a similar combination of name or date of birth as a record of a suspected sex offender will be requested to provide fingerprints. If an individual is flagged for fingerprinting, the CRRP will issue a Fingerprint Request Letter directly to the applicant. 成人视频 will not be notified of the request.
Q. Will 成人视频 staff see any violations or offenses from my CRC?
A. No. The school district only receives a result of “cleared” or “not cleared.” The District does not receive details of any offences or infractions through the Criminal Record Check process.
Q: Can I get a copy of my CRC clearance?
A. Under the CRRP (Criminal Records Review Program) we are not permitted to provide copies of your CRC.
Q. Can I share my CRC from another organization with the school district.
A. Yes, if the other organization is registered with the Criminal Records Review Program (CRRP) and your existing clearance is eligible for sharing (e.g. has not expired). Please Note: 成人视频 cannot accept a paper copy of a previous CRC.
